I don’t draw in every book I read, but I have drawn in a lot of the books I’ve read. Here are a few of the books I read and drew in this year:
I enjoyed reading most of these, but, of all the books I read this year (including the ones I didn’t draw in), this one was the only one I felt the need to immediately re-read:
The only book on your list that I’ve read is The Once and Future King – several times actually – as I’m a big Arthur legend geek. And did you REALLY read Ulysses?? Going to look into Indigenous Continent. Have you read Charles Mann’s books 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus and
1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created?
“The Once And Future King” really got going for me when Lancelot showed up. I’d never heard of the book before but I saw it in the bookstore and really liked the cover.
And I did read “Ulysses”. I’d been scared of it for years and I finally decided to just jump in head first. I treated it like a conversation with a bad listener; I understood what I understood and what went over my head went over my head. It was randier than I’d expected (same for “The Canterbury Tales”)but, overall, I enjoyed spending time with Leopold and Stephen and Molly.
I’ve not heard of Charles Mann’s book. Is it good..?
Yes, the Mann books are very good. 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus, New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 2005. and 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created, Knopf, 2011
